That was my nostalgic moment.
There aren’t many things as unexpected as nostalgia. It randomly knocks on your door from time to time to get into your mind and fill it with memories you had forgotten on the porch. Or maybe you just left them there for someone to take them away. Either way, when they’ve got into your head they go straight to your heart, following a path they never forgot. The journey is short and quickly, your heart is reflecting the bittersweet feeling that’s in your mouth.
Oh, how good it was. Do you remember those sunrises and those roars of laughter? Of course you do. Everyone does. It may not feel glorious when it happens, but how hard it hits when it comes back. Those colours, those sounds will never fade for your heart to rest. Nostalgia is vicious. It looks innocent but it stabs you in the back. Melancholy is its best friend, but regrets are its closest neighbours. Even joy becomes painful, when loneliness is joining the party.
If the movie stays beautiful, the seat will never be comfortable. Nostalgia is not here to remind you what you thought you had forgotten, it is here to remind you that it’s over.
